Hello - a little intro from a new Almera owner and a few questions.

Recently I got my paws on a 2002 Almera 1.5 SE Plus, and so thought I'd give this site a try.

I used to have a Primera for some years then downgraded to a Rover100 as I did most of my miles on a maxi-scooter (currently a Suzuki Burgman 400). Now that I'm doing some extra miles, I've gone back to a Nissan :) (The daily commute is still done on the bike - nip past the stationary traffic and park for free)

I've tried a search for some answers, but come up empty handed.

As there is currently no Haynes Manual - is there an alternative?

At the moment there are a couple of things I'd like to sort out - the cup holder is jammed shut (so how to get to the mechanism) and the LCD section of the dashboard has no light.

I checked the fuses to see if there is one specifically for the LCD display, but nothing in the descriptions appears to fit so I'm wondering if I have to attack the dashboard to get to the correct bulb.

Thanks in advance.

I notice photos are traditional for newbies, so here you are:

The log book says it's grey - but I can't put a name to the colour. Bluey-greeny.

those cup holders are easy to sort out when they get stuck, most of the dash just pulls appart quite easily

Welcome to the site.

Your car looks turquoise to me, but it`s probably called `something blue`.

My N16 is "Techno Grey", & as you can see, is nothing like yours (this pic was taken on the AOC stand @ JAE last year, & the alloys are currently on my GTi).

As for the Haynes manual alternative, there are manuals on CD, I`ve got one from www.workshopmanuals.co.uk think it was £12, but there was someone on here giving them away free, but can`t remember who it was. :O

Unfortunately, I can`t help re.: the dash lights, as mine is a phase 2 & yours is a phase 1, & both have completely different dashboards.

Thanks for the welcome.

"Tornado Grey!" At least I know what to look for when I get the chip paint :D

This I hoped for - but need to know where to attack with the screwdriver. Once I get a manual I should be sorted.

Edit - just found a cheap CD Manual on ebay that I've bought with a few spare quid I have in a Paypal account that a survey company puts the occasional payment into.

Hi mate - welcome to the site :D

Just to let you know - a couple of members on the site have suffered the same major problem with regards to the gearbox packing in

but to save me typing it out again just click here
