New gaiter and knob

The only part of the GTi interior that I really don't like is the horrible rubber gaiter.

I finally got round to doing something about it. I had planned to keep the original GTi knob, but it was a bastard to get off and I mangled it.

I didnt fancy any of the aftermarket gaiters about. The fit doesnt look good and they are very expensive for what they are, so I made my own
I'm pleased I managed to find a fairly similar gear knob too.

What does everyone think? Surely an improvement?

Na, its really easy.
You just pull the plastic surround out (push forward and up) and the rubber just unclips.

As for making people any, I don't think it would be possible. It took a fair while to get it right. If your able to use a sewing machine its not that hard a job really once you have worked the measurements out.
I cut about an inch off the shaft too. I might cut it down a bit more. Not sure yet.
