hi guys,

i'm new here. I actually dont have any Almera now, but I like them and is looking for a n16, still deciding between which to pick (sedan or hatchback; 1.5 or 1.8; 3 door h/b or 5 door).

Here where i live (dont know how it is in UK) the N16 sedan is made in Japan, but the hatchback is made in UK. Do you guys think there is difference in build quality etc. between them? Dont mean do undermine the UK but the japanese are more thorough. :D

Hey and welcome to the site! I hope you can find all you need here!

A few of our members (Like naylorGTi) work in the nissan factory so they will be able to tell you more about build quality.
With regards to engines, if I had the choice I'd go for the 2.2DCi model, my stepmum's 1.8 tino guzzles fuel and is pretty gutless even unladen, and the 1.5's gearboxes are apparently very weak.

Welcome, shouldn't matter if it's made in UK, Japan or eastern Mongolia, the N16 aint exactly winning any build quality awards.

Thanks for the answers.

Unfortunately there arent any diesel Almeras here.

I testdrove a well equipped n16 sedan 1800 (named Luxury) earlier and I think it had original 6 speakers. Then I drove a much worse equipped n16 h/b (named Comfort) and it sounded like it only had 4 original speakers though it had aftermarket cd stereo. Do you guys know how many speakers the n16 is suppose to have??

Welcome!!
If im not mistaken i think they have the 4 speakers and two tweeters setup ! However if you recon its a aftermarket cd stereo ...It could be thats its not setup proply(Treble ,Bass, etc) or gone back to its default setting.Hope it helps
Good Luck with your car search!
