New to the forum , just popped up to say hello.

Iv'e had a S14 200sx that ended up in a bit of a mess involving a garden.Also had a sunny gti that went down with the dreaded rust. On my path to have a 200sx again and with insurance being the bugger that it is, a I'm on the look out for an almera gti phase 1 or 2 not picky. Hope to have one within the next week or two.

Before buying one is there anything to look out for ,or just the norm ?

Welcome. I'm sure that the N15 lads will set you straight about what to look for but rust is the main thing; rear arches and suspension turrets I believe are the main places to find the brown rot.

as well as the norm, the only other things to lok for is rust on archs, sills, rear seatbelt mounting points and strut tops, heater only working on full and off (easy fix) umm not sure what else anyone else add to this??

anyway welcome to the club. check out the forsale section lots of cars for sale. also if your hanging around for a while its worth being a fully paid member, get lot of discount and stuff.

Needn't bother looking at the engine, it will be fine... You won't regret the GTi, mate...

Keep an eye out for power steering leaks!

Steadyrolling is right about the engine... it's mainly bodywork/heaters/power steering... oh and calipers seizing up!

My Almera is so cool.... I have all them problems! lol

The rust all sounds the same as my sunny gti, but love my nissan's so ill be on the prowl for one, hoping to have one by the week end if i can shift my BMW that is . .http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1164723.htm.
