New + in need of help

Hi guys. Just recently became a member and im wondering if any1 knows where i can get a back box for a phase 2 gti. Most places tried only sell cat back systems. The cat has already been removed and a piece of stainless tubing welded in, leaving no flange for the cat to be replaced.

Think you will struggle to find a backbox which will fit as it will have to be very small.
I tried a few months back and there isn't many out there that will go in that small space.
Your best option is to get a custom exhaust system fitted.
Do a search mate,theres lots covered on this topic. :)
 
Im after a sport box really,was hoping just to buy 1. Ive been to the local place what makes powerflow custom systems 3 times in the past but quality is poor and joints leak.

Have you thought of looking into a scorpion system?A few people off her have them and said they are really good.Just an option really.I gave up looking for a sports backbox on mine and am gonna go for a full system instead.Probably get a few ponies as well from it :)
 
i have the scorpion cat back and im very happy with it was 260 delivered from company called motech (found them on ebay). as for just getting a back box i think you will have to get a universal back box welded on, or get a decat with the correct flanging and a cat back system.

You can't just buy any universal backbox mate.The only size that will fit is very,very small lengthed one and might have to be ordered in.
It's easier on the 1.4 or 1.6 to fit any universal box.The GTi has a different confg for the pipes and a very tight space to fit one:)
Any good exhaust fitter will tell you the same :D

Yes, I picked my scorpion exhaust from Motech today... luckily got the last one in stock! :)
It can be difficult to find a backbox alone, especially if you didnt want to change the downpipe. I considered using a aftermarket backbox which had the mounts to suit a GTi, but a slip joint connection to the downpipe... this would mean having to source a flange joint, etc etc, and so I gave up on that one! :D
 
Cheers. was thinking about the scorpion cat-back,heard of one on ebay a few days ago but am not registered wid them but i think am gonna go for a custom system

yeh thats what they said to me to :roll: i didnt belive it becuase i saw it on ebay like the day after. still good service from them was a small dint in my silencer sent them a pic and they refunded me £20 with no questions asked
