New Member (N16 Owner)! :D

Hello all,
My name is Alex and I'm 18 years old. I am a big Almera enthusiast and almost everyone in my family has owned one at one point since 1998. Four days ago I traded in my Suzuki Jimny for a 2003 Nissan Almera 1.8 SE in manual. I am very pleased with the car and it's an absolute dream to drive. Today however, I had an accident (no fault of my own). Some prat decided it would be safe and convienient to stop from 40mph sideways in the middle of the road to pick someone up, she had no brake lights, didn't indicate and her reverse lights were not working. I braked sharply causing the man behind me to do the same but he ploughed his Ford Focus into the back of me, there are some scuffs on my rear bumper which I am getting sorted but my main concern (this is really bugging me) is the reverse parking sensors have been damaged. When I engage reverse gear there is a constant beeping sound even when stationary. I was wondering if there is anything I can try to fix this problem and if not roughly how much a repair would cost. Sorry to start on a sad note.

Thanks, Alex. :D

most likely need some new sensors (scrappy would be your best bet) but i'd check the existing wiring for damage first before buying any replacements. welcome to the aoc btw :)

Welcome to the AOC.
Sounds like there may have been some chassis damage too to me as when a similar incident occurred to myself the other week (rear ended) there was damage to the rear and the sensors constantly beep when in reverse gear. Sorry for the negativity.

Chassis damage? Really? The car still drives okay and it is minor damage to the bumper. :)
