New N16 owner need help

Hi I bought a Almera N16 2004 1.5 s petrol. And was only driving at night a couple of nights a go for the first time in the car. And noticed the main dipped lights are not very bright its like driving with candle light is there anything I can do to get better headlights. I have read online that there was a recall for this but not sure how true this is. I hope someone can help.
 
DEPO brand replacement headlights are the way to go, you can find a pair on eBay for around £120.

I have the same issue with the OEM headlights, to remedy it before I get the DEPO units, I've installed Nightbreaker bulbs and adjusted the beam to sit a bit higher.
