New to here.. Got an interest in GTi's... Help and Hello!

Hey Guys,

I just joined up. I'm in the middle of repeating some of my exams, so after January i'll be pretty much free until the summer. Start of the summer or when the weather gets better, i'm thinking about picking up a quickish car and i was looking at the Almera GTi?

What sort of money would you be talkin' for a good GTi? Are alot of them rotten? What are the engines etc like on them, or is there anything that gives particular bother?

I want something to take over to wales/scotland and maybe do a few track days in the late spring/summer!

Ah, right. I checked before I registered, and it told me there was no threads.

Is there anywhere I could find out about the different phases, years etc?

Hi

For a decent one you can expect to pay around £900-£1150 which for what they are is good value. Price can vary phase 2's tend to be a bit more. However you can find some cheap ones that are spot on, take a look at stufagti's car.
Some are rotten some arent depends how much you pay, you can find a clean one if you take your time, normally the wheel arches and sills are the main concern.
Engine is bullet proof nothing to worry about at all, the engine will certainly outline the shell!
