New to the forum, on the lookout for a GTi

Hi all, my name's Mike.

I signed up as I was on track to pick up a GTi on Sunday just gone but it went to someone else on the Saturday. Sad to miss out on the car but I think the seller was trying his luck so may have dodged a bullet.

I'm no stranger to car forums but haven't been on one in a while, I'm sure it's the same useful advice and witty banter. I previously had a Corsa C as my pride and joy on Jenvey ITBs and Emerald stand alone management etc... reluctantly let it go on Saturday in favour of something a little more sensible/grown up.

I also had a Lancia Delta Integrale for a while so I'm no stranger to rusty old labours of love, lol.

If anyone has a GTi for sale with all relevant bits in working order please get in touch. Ideally I want something that's been fettled with as little as possible. My intention would be to keep it clean and well maintained, nothing major. I commute during the week so would be an evening and weekend car so just want something cheap and reliable while still being fun to drive.
