New to the site.

How's it going,I'm new to the site.
I've owned a few nissans (silvia, skyline, and micra) but this is my first diesel.
I just bought a 04 Nissan almera 2.2SDci and have a quick question.
When the car is idling and I remove the dipstick a very small bit of oil sprays out is this normal?
I'm a little worried about it but apart from that the car seems spot on.
Any help would be much appreciated

Sounds normal to me. Just crankcase pressure from when the pistons move down in the cylinder and any blowby from combustion.

Hi & welcome to the club,

I remember taking out the dipstick on my old ph1 Almera diesel that did it to so yes I think it's nothing you need to worry about, just out of curiosity which Skyline did you own, & do have any future plans for your dci..?

Thanks for the replies. I had an R22 gtst. The 1st plan for the dci is to get a diagnostic done,
Was driving it this morning and all of a sudden I had barely any power, when I turned it off and
On again it was fine, hopefully it's nothing too serious.
Haven't really any plans after that just keep it clean, it's actually a car/van I got for work.

Hello and welcome, out of curiosity did it loose power as u accelerated upto say 3.5k revs then go into limp mode. Does it have a tuning box or been remapped at some point ?

It seems to just happen randomly, the 1st time was at low enough revs but then it's happened at all different ranges. Getting it looked at tomorrow. I wasn't told by the previous owner so I'm not sure
