New User - Confused!

Hey all :)

Just picked up a P Reg SI 1.4 for £350. 90k on the clock and running pretty well. I swapped out the exhaust today for a 3rd party one as the back box was blown completey and the old owner thought it was going to cost a bomb...I got it for £70 :D

Anyway, I'm confused to which N number my chassis is. It's the odd one with the extra little "window" behind the rear windows. It's a P reg (96) so I'm guessing it's an N15. I'll try and get some pics tomorrow.

Next job is to replace the two wings as it looks as if a bad parker has been having their way with her :/

..on then onto engine mods!..

Thanks mate - Is that the same as your avatar, looks like the same back end?

My plan for the car is to try and restore it to a "clean" model, and mod the engine. Sadly, it's come with steelies, and I need to get hold of the factory alloys for the rubber, but I fail at finding a picture of them to get an idea of what it will look like. In order I need to :

Replace and respray both wings.
Fill and spray marks on NS Passenger door and fuel cap.
Fit factory alloys, probably with Yokos.

From then on it's pure engine. I'm thinking an Eco Valve with a pipercross filter with the vent leading to the unused fog light bays. Possibly adding a 5th injector. I'm looking for sites for ideas, and google led me here :D

Edit : Before this car I restored and modded Classic Minis, so all this multipoint injection stuff is brand new to me. I'm looking forward to learning about a new engine.

Yeah but his is an N15 phase 2

phase 1 = N to R
phase 2 = later R's to V

welcome mate. before getting an ecotec id have a search round on the site and read up on whats best for your engine

I've been having a potter around most of the night, but the tuning sections are gone / locked? Is this part of the AOC membership (which I plan on doing come pay day) or general database issues.

I also know much of the mods are a small power gain in a 1.4 engine, but I'm doing it for the experience of modifying an engine that isn't an A seris.
 
Yea to have access to all parts of the site you have to be a paid up member mate, keep us posted on what you do with your engine ;)

There are a few minor cosmetic differences between phase one and phase 2.

Mainly the lights- front and back, bump strips and black pillars on phase 2 different bumpers etc. I do believe that a few of the differences are interchangeable though! ;)
