Hi guys,
hope your all well
Ive got a almera 1.6 2003 (N16 I think? ) which has recently started clicking when turning so I guess that'll be the cv joint? I know my way around cars a fair bit but needed some specific advice for the almera.
afaik its:
- loosen 32mm(?) driveshaft nut
- jack up car and use axle stands
- remove axle nut
- cut off cv boot
- pull out driveshaft from hub carrier with cv attached
- knock cv joint off end of driveshaft
- push new cv joint into hub carrier and fit axle nut to hold in place
- push cv boot onto driveshaft
- fit new circlip to end of driveshaft?
- knock driveshaft back into new cv joint
- fill boot with grease and secure to cv joint
- tighten axle nut
- drop car onto wheels and really f-tighten the axle nut!
does that sound right for the almera? as in I dont have to remove the tie rod or anything else in this process?
also does anyone have like a parts diagram of the hub assembly? or anywhere i can get one form?
thanks chaps.
