Hi all,
I'm on my 2nd petrol Almera. Both have normally been reliable through cold weather, rain, snow except this morning. Started ok, reversed 10 feet, then I switched off to wait for passenger. Tried to start it - electricity ok, but no turning over. Have recharged battery, in case, no change. Just tried it again, no joy.
The doors are responding to opening by making a 'tweeting' noise, open ok. Lights on dash come on, immobiliser works. Have a red 'i' symbol and an orange engine-like symbol. If I try and turn the car on again, the dash lights come on and there is a low 'tweeting' sound but no ignition turn over. It reminds me (vaguely) of a problem I had with an old mitsubishi colt, solved by taking off distributor cap, removing spark plugs, wire brushing them and putting back together - this was a much older car ....but...ideas?
Any ideas welcome please.
Thanks
