Newbie here and in bother!

Morning!
On the way home last night my N16 broke down at the bottom of my street (which was lucky i suppose) the was a slapping noise just before i came to a stop, noticed as i looked under the car there was two belts lying there, can anybody tell me what belts these are? If that's not a daft question!
Haven't got a clue when it comes to cars, hopefully my mate can sort this morning when he has a look!
 
They are almost certainly auxiliary drive belts, which are used to get power steering, water pump, alternator and ac.

Something broke and forced them to fly out, could be related to crankshaft pulley coming loose - hard to say for sure without pictures.
