Newbie just got Tino today

Hi all,

just picked up our 2001 Almera Tino 1.8SE today and love it. One question - don't now if anyone can help? It has a radio cassette which looks great but unfortunately cassettes went in the bin years ago. Any suggestions to upgrade the unit - either is there a aux in tucked round the back? should I get an old mini jack to cassette adaptor - like the old days or an FM transmitter that I can plug something in to? or is there a unit that can stack on top of the cassette radio? or, finally.. is it easier to get a radio/cd unit from a leter model and fit it.

Lots of questions, sorry, just looking for the best solution for the least expense/hassle - though aren't we all.

Cheers

Hello and welcome! Not sure if the tino dash is the same as the earlier N16s but I think Darren1561235132531 made a guide on how to remove and replace :)

Welcome :)

Yours is an early Tino (pre-2003) so you should be able to get a facia adaptor and fit an aftermarket head unit. This would give you all the mod cons in the audio department :). You would need that and an ISO adaptor cable.

Hi and welcome. I fitted mine own cd player into my tino today, The facia adaptor was 7.99 plus postage, 12 pound ish in total. plus 3.85 for the ISO cable from local supplier. That way you can have whatever cd player you like.

Thanks for the help - managed to remove the unit and there are connections for a CD changer to be plugged in. The missus wants the dash just the way it is!! So I'm going to find out if I can get either a CD autochanger
( as the steering wheel controls should work) and track down the correct cables. Someone has told me there is a unit that pretends to be a CD changer bus accepts other mp3/3.5 mm jack plugs. I'll keep you posted. the unit is a Nissan badged clarion PN-1628V if anyone knows where I can get some info on it that'd be grand.

what's the best way to track down the guide from Darren1561235132531 ? thanks - oh and Hughes_16 what unit did you go for?

Hey dude i have a Stereo+cd changer from my N16 on ebay atm its at 19.99 all working :) I hope its what your after heres the linkage

EDIT:!!!!

The stereo is mod number: PN 1628M And the cd changer is PN2302M if they run same connections you should be ok to slot them both in as they work together and mine had steering wheel controls. But i cant be certain

PS. I havent decoded it from my car i just took it out.. so i think it needs coding to your nats dont ask how i havent got a clue xD
