Newbie member,Exhaust type noise from engine bay

I have had my N16 Almera 1.5 SX for 7 years, 112,000 miles. Oil , Air Filter and Spark Plugs all changed as per nissan guide lines - 9,000 and 18,000 miles.
I have had no problems with my car until recently when I developed a hole in my exhaust noise, sure enough when inspected there was a hole in my back box.
I had the full exhaust replaced excluding the catalytic converter, the noise was less noticeable but there is still an exhaust type sound coming from the engine bay.
This noise is only heard when the car is moving . When the car is stationary there is no noise.
I would be grateful if any members can shed some light on my current situation.
I have also returned to the garage who fitted the exhaust and everything was checked including the catalytic converter and the exhaust manifold and all was o.k.

Hi and welcome :)

I have also returned to the garage who fitted the exhaust and everything was checked including the catalytic converter and the exhaust manifold and all was o.k.

Well this makes it a bit of a mystery then. Unless the mechanic missed something, otherwise if it really was ok then surely there wouldn't be a noise!

Perhaps someone else might have the answer for you.

p.s. mind sending some of that Whisky my way? :D
