Newbie prospective Tino owner - help please

Hi I've just looked at a 2.2 SE Diesel TINO and it has done just over 40,000 miles - can anyone tell me when the cambelt change intervals are and roughly how much garages charge please.

He also had a 1.8 petrol - can anyone tell me when the cambelt change intervals are and roughly how much garages charge please.

I cant decide between the two both were very nice and drove well - I will want it to tow a 1 tonne caravan so diesel may win out.

Thanks inadvance

I dont know about the Diesel versions but i know for a fact the 1.8 has a Timing Chain so theres no need to change it unless its completely fooked.

The 2.2 Diesel seems to be the better engine from what I've read on here. The petrol engines seem to have no end of reliability issues compared to previous Nissan engines.

^^Yeh, I don't know what variant of diesal is in them but the 136 that Ed has seems to be one of the better engines in the N16's.

IIRC it's the same as the N15 Diesel engine but Turbo'd...so reliability isn't an issue.

I'd guess its the same engine thats in Eds. Can't see Nissan making two different 2.2's

Edit: good point fish. I cant load my autodata to check :(

Yes your right, I thought they used YD22Di's.....but no, it was the asthmatic CD20.

Yeh Mark I just meant BHP variants.

Nah Fish they're Nissan engines just Renualt helped developed it. There are are two versions of the 2003+ diesel. 136 and 112. Not sure what the differences are but I'd expect they are just tuned differently.
