Newbie with an Almera Tino

Hi all,
I've just joined after finding you on a google search, I am collecting my new 2005 plate Almera Tino 2.2 turbo diesel tomorrow!
The only issue it has is an alternator belt squeak due to a bent bolt in the tensioner apparently.

I know nothing about Nissan's, have been part of the rover community since 2005!
Hoping to learn a lot about my new car including how to fix my squeak and any other issues I may face along the way!

Thanks :)

This no tensioner for the alt belt. The adjustment is in the way the alt is set. If its the tensioner for the a/c at the bottom then it will be a really easy fix. Word of advice, when i bought mine i had the same problem with sqeaking. The garage i bought it from said " just needs oiling from where we steam cleaned it " they sprayed some WD40 on it and it went quiet. Next day it was back and louder. Cos of that when i changed the belt i not only had to change the belt but also clean all the WD40 off the pulleys which was a bugger. So my advice is don't let anyone go near it with any oil.

Ok thanks, I will take a look tomorrow and see if I can stop the squeak, it's waking the neighbours when I leave for work at 6am and I am not popular anymore haha!

Hi all,
Im having trouble finding out what car I have, K12, N16 and so on, I need a shock absorber for the drivers side front but it is turning in to a nightmare. Have been looking on ebay and many are there however listed for K12 or N16 or other variants, can anyone help?
Ideally I would like to find someone breaking one and take the whole strut, quicker and easier to fit.
Also not sure on comparability with these cars, ie do the struts from the 1.8 petrol fit my 2.2 turbo diesel?

Hope some can help :)

Thanks in advance.

Yours is a confusing one as it's a mix of cars i believe. and unfortunately there isn't many members on here that have much involvement with the Tino so you're going to struggle a little trying to get some clarity on this i think. but all the best of you can :) All i can say is that a K12 is a Nissan Micra. weather the suspension is compatible or not i don't know I'm afraid Bud.

Hello and welcome

Belated...............
