Anyways enjoy your time on here bud. 5 Doors FTMFW

cheers for comment .. and i know i couldnt resist buying it lol but gunna keep the car for a few year now so not botherd about touching it up etc... all that will come in time :)

ive noticed a few people have said adjusting the timing of the car smoothes the ride more responsive etc.. how exactly do you go about doing this ?

Should keep you busy throught the summer! Welcome aboard mate, Very unfortunate about the astra hehe. Great buy on the n15, Looks pretty tidy considering what needs doing. But atleast your in the right place for advice and such!

Right well been working on the car again today arch liners are all back into place which has solved the problem of the knocking, ariel has been fixed, idle valve ive had out and cleaned and sorted the idle problem caravan tow bar i might have to angle grind off as the nuts have been tightentd on too far and cross threaded grrr!!

but still left puzzled by the clutch and horn.... the clutch is very very stiff to press down onto the pedal but once down gears do engage and is driveable to change gear but still not sure wether to change the clutch or not as ive been reading up and some people are saying it could be the clutch release springs but dont know where they are

and the horn ive checked all fuses and all are in perfect condition so puzzled by that one

welcome Mikey:D Check the connections that are actually on the horn.Mine stopped working once and the cause was corroded connections.Just clean them up and they might just work.Worth a try.

Cheers for the welcome and comments guys and i know was a steal for 180 .. ill go check the connection on the horn now matey !

My horn was broken when I had my car too.. and strangely the airbag light was on too.. so I realised that it was the "airbag spinner" that was broken, Its behind the steering wheel, and has tape wires inside that allow the steering wheel to turn without snapping the wires that go to the horn and the airbag..
So if your airbag light is on too, then you know that its the airbag spinner thats broke, and that will explain the broken horn too.
if the airbag light is not on, I'd definitely check the connection on the horns themselves, and give them a whack with a spanner or similar (especially if the car's been standing a while).

Could well be the clutch cable?
A few weeks back mine gave up the ghost, was a complete bitch to get into any gear, clutch was stupidly heavy, and finally got it in second and drove home in 2nd.
Try replacing the clutch cable first, sounds like what i had and now works fine ;)
Horn could possibly a contactor or something isnt connecting to complete the circut?
