nissan almera tino 2.2 dci 136bhp problem

Hi had to get new timing chain fitted to above car and fuel injectors as engine management light was on and car was in limp mode. car was being worked on for nearly 4 weeks but car passed MOT today and on start up it was in limp mode again, stoppe it and switched off engine and back on again all fine.

I drove 70 miles from Derry to Belfast and all ok, BUT.

ran my MRS to work earlier and same thing again limp mode, switched off and on again ok, dropped her off at work and before I got out of grounds of hospital the engine management light on again and in limp mode. sitting on drive way now no better than it was 4 weeks ago.

my father in law is mechanic and he got few more mechanics to do the work, the guy that fitted fuel pump and timing chain didn't do the reset of the ECU would this be the problem or can anyone give me any advice/ he says he wanted to see how it was driving as there wasn't any problems until I drove it today as he and my father in law had been driving it without any faults.

Regards Jonny

Hi there and welcome.

Definitely resetting the fuel pump/ECU after anything like that is a matter of protocol, and I would imagine will help. You can but try! If you need the reset procedure hit up the search feature within the technical section :). I believe it's in the open member area.

Hi edk thanks for the reply, yes I will have a look for the ECU info, I dont know why he didn't just reset it and save me this hassle.
