Now with my own Almera SXE.

Hello guys. My name is Vladislav and i am happy to share what i bought myself over a month ago:

I bought her more than a month ago. At the end of May i saw her in mobile.de and then i decided that this is my car. A friends of mine in car delivery buisiness delivered the car for me from Munster/Germany. It's 07.2005 Acenta +, 136hp, 6-speed, 177 500km currently. With the time as i changed oil, filters, lagers, etc, the car started to feel really nice. The last year i've driven for a while my dad's car, which is the same but 2003 Acenta, 2.2dci, 136hp, 6-speed but with ESP(129 500km currently). It is quite more entertaining driving vehicle without ESP :D

So, here the similarities end. Indeed without ESP is a bit more responsive but the maximum torque and power are achieve in lower throttle levels (around 70% compared to 90% throttle in the blue one). I don't know, maybe different engine software revisions, or... dunno. If you exceed those throttling levels, the car starts to roar, smoke and won't accelarate fast. Right now i'm looking for a specialist who can dissasemble the cylinder head and clear the air intake. After that i will try to disable the EGR(some guys with the same engine have their cars running well, but some say that they get errors and engine safe mode...). After that i'll buy performance air filter and maybe in future if i change my mind, I will have my ECU remmaped (170hp, 4100rpm, 389Nm/1900rpm offered by DigitalTunning).
For now i have nothing more to add. I'll be greatful if you can share experience with me with the current issues i have :)
Thanks in advance! :)

Welcome, I bought my car from mobile.de a year ago too :) UK had a SXE model which came with ESP switch I believe, dunno if any European model had it though.

Try egr cleaner first (like Wynns), won't cost much but can definitely improve things. If the car was driven economically there might be a clogged egr problem there.

Thanks for the advice! As for the ESP switch, the blue one has, but mine doesn't have. In the Electronic Service Manual + some other sources i read that in addition to the ABS and Brake Assistent(forgot the exact name), I have and TCS(Traction Control I believe). As i noticed it is responsible for torque controling. With my current bad tires even with bare throttle is at the edge of spinning the wheels(bare throttle but above 2K rpm)... as it is to say with 60% throttle for example... but if i go a little bit higher, the car gives me full control... so it instantly goes to the rev limiter :D The blue one has it's wheel spin limited by the ESP to 4000rpm(with full throttle).
But if we don't count the missing ESP i have a fully operational SXE :p The same engine and transmission, suspenssion, visual style etc. :)
...and about the cleaner - after the post i made here i also read about these cleaners and i am amazed what they can do. At the summer at work we don't have much projects to develop, so i have quite some time to spend on reading about cars :)
As all the information i managed to gather today, after Nissan recalled the YD22DDTi vehicles, the torque stays the same but the maximum power drops between 125-133hp at 3600 rpm. Found out in the web that with k&n filter + egr disable the car gets 140-145hp... but i wanted to get more. To say if i raise the boost by 0.2 i will get 150+ hp in 4100-4200 but then i read about the issue with the -2 revision of 1849VNT. After that i contacted one bulgarian house dealing with turbines. As the guy told me they made the faster truck in Europe. I told him the number of the turbine and he claimed that for 900lv he can change bearings, rottors, wings, etc and the turbine will be capable of 185-190hp... but right now i can't afford it because after the turbine modification i have to remap the ECU(otherwise i think it will start to make engine errors) + i need some other things(not related with the car).
...and a question about the exhaust. What product you can recommend that doesn't raise the engine noise but gives several horse power(if it exists)? Like better geometry of the muffler for better gas exhaustion.
Thanks in advance :)

There are tons of information on how to tune YD22 here, you're definitely in the right place :) Look for edk's N16 dci thread, he's the man behind the magic. Magnaflow backboxes are pretty quite on these engines, I used one for a while. If you're planing to do some mods go ahead and create a proper thread in 'members rides' section :)

...everything was fine until the ice storm on Tuesday. No meteorological forecast predicted this or missiles were fired to destroy the clouds.... :(:(:(

Luckily i have damage on the hood, roof, 3-4 small hits on the trunk, 3-4 not noticable on the left doors. Most of the cars were with damaged windows and even without.

Luckily, friends in my home town have the same hood(even the same color). I'll take several days off work for going to my home town for polishing the new hood + kit and paint for the roof. The rear and left doors have unnoticable damage and they can be fixed with vacuum or similar operation.

Low percent of the cars managed to survive...
But I know , you'll fix your car in no time!
