awful seat covers, awful mesh and god knows how/why he's mounted the cone filter there!

May have been thrashed by the look on it but its had a new clutch and as you said, they can take a bit of a beating.

Im not sure as I dont know too much about almeras just yet, but it looks as though its got power steering or am I just thinking it might be where the powersteering fluid res is in the micra. left of the airbox.

the clear pot next to the air filter is the brake fluid and the black pot on the LHD of the engine bay is the PAS fluid. So yes it's got power steering.

why buying a 1.4 if there are lot gti's availeble :D

Here in belgium, you cannot find any gti, becouse there were sold only 8 of them in the wole 4 years.
I have driven the 2.0 diesel before and i never want to exchange my gti for any other car :D

mainly due to insurance and tax, to behonest I dont know why I dont go for the green one as its just down the road from me practically. Gti that is. So maybe the insurance is £100ish more and tax is £80 more per year. I guess its better to spend a bit more and have a more kitted out car. If the green one is avalible next month I will definately consider it.

for your budget, i'd say you'd get a fairly decent GTi!! I've had a 1.4 before I got the VZR and have to say that they are two completely different cars. Definitely go for the GTi, you won't regret it.
