over fueling

hi was just after a bit of help with my n15 sri i think it is running to rich as i can smell petrol when it is running it just has a stainless exhaust and induction kit does anyone have any advice for me of how to sort this problem out thx

whats your mileage?

i'd suggest replacing the lambda sensor cause if this gives a dodgy reading the engine will dump more fuel in to protect itself

same problem, here's my list (still not solved)
lambda replace (done)
MAF replace (done)
fuel filter replace (done)
Flush with injector cleaner through petrol (done)
Replace stuck open thermostat (done)
To Do:
Clean throttle body & tubes
Clean Idle air control valve and tubes
Apexi SAFC II to connect

if you find a solution first that would be most appreciated

lambda sensor wouldn't be replaced in an engine rebuild so that would be a good culprit.

i suggest going to a scrapyard and finding a good low mileage almera and getting the sensor from there

i dont think so you can mostly smell it from the exaust when its running and i get a lot of un burnt petrol in my back box

no its easier and more effective just to replace them.

corbs father: reground your maf too :)

yessir, Il get you some pictures of what Ive done

* well I would but I seem to have done a very good job insulating the wires

here is a basic run down of what I did.

Snip the wire

twist the two ends together, this maintains the normal connection

Put your chosen connection on

run your new ground wire to the earthing points on the back of the inlet, this is where the ECU is also grounded too so they have to be good

tape it all up and away you go :)
