Paint removal

I know im going to get flamed for this haha. I bought a GTI bumper and I need to remove the paint i have tried sanding it and its gonna take me about 3 weeks. I have had enough already. Is there some kind of paint stripper I.E turps or something I could use? I heard brake fluid works without damaging the plastic. I am aware that if I didnt wash it off quickly it will damage the plastic but I was thinking of wiping it down a few times with thinners or something. Any ideas?

all you need is wet a dry or a scowering pad to give the surface a key. then prime, paint and laq.
dont need to remove the paint totally fella.

i used nitromors paint stripper to remove paint from the lip of my wheels but i think it maight effect the plastic. don't think turps would do much really and may balls plastic up as well.

why you need to remove it anyway? surely sanding will balls plastic up too and if you're respraying just spray over it?

EDIT: ^ as above - beat me to it!

Use fibreglass for the splitter mate, fibreglass will add some structural integrity to it too, and can be painted over. You can get a fibreglass kit from halfords for about £8, which will last you forever.
