Parcel Shelf Noise

Hoping someone can help me, everytime I got over a bump my parcel shelf wobbles and stuff and makes a huge noise, after over a year of this it's really starting to piss me off so anyone got any suggestions how to stop it shaking and bumping around?

I've got 6x9's in my parcel shelf if that makes any difference and glueing it in isn't a option even though been pretty tempted so any ideas guys?
 
No offence intended, but it is locked into the hinges isn`t it? :confused: ;)

When I`ve had to take mine out & put it back on, I think I`ve locked it in, but when I lift it up, it falls off! :mad: :rolleyes:

Double check it`s properly mounted.
 
Lol no offence taken, yup it's fitted correctly, clicked in at back of seats bit and the rope part is clipped onto the boot aswell.
 
the wee bit it clips into are snapped on mine so it doesnt sit properly anyway, although i never noticed it making any noise.

its maybe not the parcel shelf, possible something like the speakers beside or something. duno.
 
Might be the weight of the speakers making it bump about???

You can get wee sticky foam pad things from homebase you can stick on the bit it rests on, to absorb the impact as said above
 
yeah was thinking mabye weight of the 6x9's on the parcelshelf but wasnt to sure, think might pop along to homebase, any other ideas anyone?
 
I had this problem on my old car, it will be the little rubber rests near the front of the rear trim. One had worn through from the weight of the speakers and was making a noise all the time.
 
Turn the music up! Before i sorted all my rattles mine sounded like it was about to explode! Things like this cant be helped sometimes, age/wear and tear/sods law. you pick one!
 
my 6x9s are making my parcel shelf do the same. Was thinking maybe if I put a bit of weight at the far rear of the shelf it might stop, though I might follow here's advice and put some rubber strips down where the shelf rests.
 
my whole car makes more noise than a porn star!!!! the windows rattle, so does the little arm wrest bits, parcel shelf bounces like pammys tits and only way to drown them out was to put the head unit on max and make my ears bleed.

mine was really pissing me off shaking and squeeking so i took the metal strip off the back of the shelf and now its so silent i can relax again it used to give me really bad road rage it would piss me off that much! it works do it!!!
 
Noticed that strip on mine when I was fitting the lights today, anyone know why it`s there :confused: the back seems sturdy enough, so why would the front need reinforcing? :confused: :confused:

it is just that = reinforcment
 
Probably the same reason the gear knobs screwed and glued on.
