Periodic start problems

Sometimes, my lovely Almera 1.6 GX Automatic (1999), dont start. The symptom is that when I turn the key, absolut nothing happens. No sound from the starter motor, either clicking or starter motor turn. By repeating experiments, the car suddenly starts without problems.

Does anyone in this forum, know this problem and know how to overcome.

could even be the battery, or the automatic gear selector... surely it wouldn't start or attempt to start when its in anything but neutral?

according to my manual ur right almeraraje, according to my manual it could be any of the following:

battery terminal connections loose or corroded
battery discharged or faulty
broken looses or disconnected wiring in starting circuit
defective starter motor
defective starter solenoid or switch
starter pinion or flywheel ring gear theeth loose or broken
engine earth strap broken or disconnected
auto transmission not in park/ neutral or starter inhibitor switch faulty

:lol::lol::lol:
OK,I've got an AUTOMATIC Pulsar GTI (n14) and I had exactly the same problem.

STARTER INHIBITOR SWITCH;)

Some say(haynes)it's adjustable but my trusted, old and experienced mechanic says not.
Just buy a new switch from Nissan.
Around 90 + VAT IIRC
Hope that helps.
I wouldn't bother with a second one.

Check under your bonnet, locate the Earth Cable from the Battery Terminal...check for White Powder...if they have any then high chance of an Earthing Issue.
