Ph2 GTi Drivers door hinge replacement

Hi,
My drivers door has dropped slightly and it's beginning to annoy me!!! (sometimes wont shut properly, noisy when closing, damaged the plastic coating on the door catch bolted to the B-Pillar).

Has anyone had this problem before?? and moreso, has anyone done anything to repair it???

Is the hinge a bolt on replaceable item? Is it hard to do? could anybody let me know about a procedure for going about hinge replacement?.... a kind of list of what needs to come off and in what order etc... and if you know, a price for the hinge and best place to get one.

Would appreciate any help with this.... it would do wonders for my sanity!!!

Thanks all.

Mr K.

Try just getting the door and yanking it upwards when it's fully open. It'll bend the hinge slightly and should solve the problem.

dropping doors are a common problem with micra's and my almera has started to show the same symptoms, it is normally the wear on the door pins rather than welds on the hinges going. You can buy replacement door pins from nissan, not sure how much these cost for a mera but they were £40 for the micra.

I literally took the whole door off, replaced the pins and put back on. You will have to undo the door wiring and unbolt the door catch. The doors are a bit of a pain to get back on straight so expect it to take a day or two.

open your door fully, then check to see if it has any up/down play in it, if it doesnt, then do as Rob says, its how new cars are adjusted in the factory anyway
if there is play then new hinges are around £40 I paid for both front doors, and arent thast hard to swap really, just a bit of a fuck on putting the door back on.
