ph2 Gti

Now then,

Was they a ph3 GTI? As my friend has a Ph2 and his doesnt have side airbags, while my 99 t reg does.
Has my gti just had some optional extras added to it when it was built?
If they was a ph3 what was diffrent?
thanks

'PH3' was invented to distinguish the last of the run cars where nearly every optional extra was added on as standard. Side airbags were already an option so could have appeared on earlier cars.
Really it should be called Ph2a or Ph2.1 as there are no where near as many changes (If any, arguably) as between Ph1 and Ph2.
:)

thanks corbs..just been searching on the internet again and on here and found a list of optional extras so yeah the guy who bought the car first must of hit the list hard as i think my car has them all.

Another question...when you start the GTI, do al of them rattle for a second when started from cold...like a dry chain, but if there warm its normaly ok.
my old gti did it and every one just said its fine but just wondered if it was normal

yeah chain ratlle is normal, don't worry about it. if it starts making that noise all the time, then worry!
