Was wondering if the key has a chip in or is it a basic key. The reason i ask is because i have one key but no doubt it does have a chip and a replacement will cost big bucks.

you don't have to go to Nissan. I got a key cut from my local locksmith + programmed for about 30 quid. just make sure you have the NATS Code
dam it i have no nats code, i'm defo not paying Nissan prices. I'll just place the key in a safe place (you know that place where you can never find it yourself
