Phase 2 GTi Suspension

Probably a stupid question but can anyone tell me if the suspension-(springs/shocks) from a phase 2 GTI will fit directly on my 1997 Phase 1.
I queried Boge UK regarding the cost of new inserts and their reply had a cost of £54 for cars manufactured up to 1997 and £ 34 for those after, well mine was obviously manufactured pre 97.
So what changed ? anyone know.
What exactly is the difference in suspension between Phase 1 & 2 N15's.?:confused:
 
IIRC the shocks and springs wont cross over phases individually, but the shock/spring combo can be transferred between phases as it bolts up the same.
 
:)Big sigh of relief cos I already bought the complete kit front and back off eBay, should really have check with you guys who know 1st :lol:
So do you know what the difference is, the guy who sold them said he thought the P2 was a little shorter and stiffer.:cool:
 
as corbs said, the combo of both springs and shocks together shouldn't be a problem. springs shocks separately would be due to different inner springplate dia's on the rear and possibly something else too!
