Piggyback ECU Mapping by Dastek

I was wondering if anyone can take a few pictures of a piggy back ECU which Dastek installed. some one running a Turbo if possible

I was wondering how many people are running SR20DE+T's

Basicly I spoken to a guy today and he does remapping for a Job/business. I was saying to him if some one on the forum has a Dastek installed can you rip the map off the chip and program it into another chip and plug it into another piggyback ECU which is the same. he said its possible but needs to see the chip and etc.

just thinking as this will way cheaper and will save a lot of money on re-mapping if people on here are intrested.

if this is possible all you basicly need is just another person on the forum that has had a remap for a SR20DE+T. I am not sure how much he will charge as he said he needs to have a look at the chip and etc.

Really?! I would have thought it best to make a custom live map because of differences in engines and mods, especially when it's an aftermarket turbo. He's going to use the map as a foundation though right?
 
Well think logically, everyone's got different specs, especially on turbo'd motors.. Different amounts of boost etc.
Would be stupid and dangerous to use someone else's map on your own motor lol

Dastek's are sealed I think. Haven't really looked at mine.

It's ok to do this, just to get the car started and driveable, but the only place it should then be driven is to get it tuned.
 
I mean it will save towing fee and at least you can drive the car after?
at least you will have a base map so you don't need to start from scratch to build up a map.

my friend turboed his B16 engine (stock internals and compression which I thought was brave) and it cost him under 2k. DIY turbo kit from ebay and then a Mega-Squirt ECU I think it was he downloaded the maps from the website uploaded them and the car was running fine. he could of done fine tuning but he never.
 
happens all the time in the states.. thats all JWT ECU's are there all the same maps you just tel them your setup....

if your close to the same setup as someone else you would get away with it.. but what your asking is for someone with a dastec to come to you have there (expencive ecu) removed and copied which could end up messing it up.. and ill tell you now no one will be willing to do that..
 
fuck sake darren use your head mate, no 2 cars/engines are the same and same goes with the mapping!
just tow it to a garage and get it done properly,
