Hi folks.

Looking for some unbiased advise about a phase1 Gti (Unbiased yeah right lol)

Possibility of a phase 1 complete with superchip, Basically what kinda bhp would i be looking at with the superchip?

Would be looking to attend track days in her as she would be a second car.

Had a gti phase one about 6 years ago for a week before i got my phase2 which was a great motor.

Anyways, any advice on the gti and supechip would be appreciated!

my Phase 2 GTi was chipped before I got it the guy I got it off said it didn't do a lot for performance but its smoothed out the power band a bit for smoother power delivery. Rick (the guy I sold it too) can probably better comment on performance as he's had a few GTi's, and this was the only 1 I've had......
 
You`ll need alot more than a superchip to make it quick. Superchips give running problems anyway.

Rick reckoned mine was smoother & more responsive I think he said when he drove mine, drove it for quite a while and hard (when I dozed off lol) so had good chance to compare. When I drove your old one I reckon was a bit smoother at the lower rev's though.
 
Yeah the guy I got it off said the garage/tuning place said it smoothed the power band out a bit so its was more spread out rather than just above 4000rpm to be honest the guy could even remember what chip it was but there was a bill fo close to £400 I seem to remember, but then I think tha Janspeed sport cat & full exhaust probably helped more ;), Did rick ever get mine back to break after the guy he sold it to crashed it??
 
Yeah, sold it to his ex, she crashed it or was rear ended or something, he paid & got it back from insurance and sitting at her place cause he doesn't have the room at the moment.
