Primera GT cams and Almera gti exhaust question...

Hey guys, heard a little story from someone local yesterday saying that the cams in the primera gt are better than the ones found in the almera gti, and are a really good performance upgrade found cheaply in scrapyards. Is this so...? and if it is, what other parts can be used from the gt to make the almera that little bit faster???

Other question is about exhausts, what pipe size, backbox size and tail pipe size are recommended for the almera gti (phase 2 with the rear splitter), dont know whether to buy a after marker back box and just weld it on, or weather to get one made with given measurements. after a nice note without it being ott. My exhaust isnt de-cat and dont think i'll do that whilst its on the road.

Any help would be great.

Cheers.

that's bollocks, the engines are identical in the later GT's, and the older GT engines are completely different IIRC.
As for tail pipe size, I have a 3.5" and it's sits perfectly in the P2 splitter. You could probably just get away with a 4" but any bigger it will foul and melt the bumper. pipe size, minimum 2.25", max 2.5" unless you'r going crazy with the engine mods.

oh, and get a custom cat-back made, not an off the shelf backbox! I recommend Longlife.

yeh GT and GT engines are identical, onyl difference being the primera came without a precat in the downpipe.

as for exhausts, like hally said go custom - i'd recommend somewhere like MIJ nr birmingham orn AAS in Newcastle, go for 2.5" mandrel bent ;) :D

primera eGT's IE P10's have slightly better cams but there only a few extra deg's of duration but they dont fit unless you change to non roller rockers...

Thanks for the responses guys, i know custom would be better but im a student and living life on the tight side at the moment, but the little money i get i like to put into my cars. I ve been offered a HKS exhaust for next to nothing, its a 2" inlet tho. is that too small??
