That might be a headrest. Its already got a 3rd brake light in the spoiler.

Unfortunately, i think you're right, but IIRC the phase 1s had the rear window brake light and the phase 2s had the spoiler brake light? Unless Corbs used a tailgate from a phase 2 when he had it smoothed, which is plausible.

Either way, i can see that the wiper sits on the black edge, so that should be fine regarding seeing the brake light.

Yeah it doesn't get in the way at all. If i mind i'll take a photo for you the morn. Also mine is a phase 2 with the high level brake light. Think it was more an optional extra. Not phase specific.

My PH1 has the spoiler brake light like that. Looks like any car can have that lower level brake light.

As i found out yesterday you cant buy new wiper blades for the punto wiper, you have to buy a whole bloody arm each time. Pain in the arse.

Just noticed Kieran your spoiler isnt a GTi one, wierd.

JClark - That is indeed a headrest, I used alex1's phase 1 gti bootlid, p1 gtis and all p2s had the brake light spoiler, p1 non-gtis had the lower brake light.

Nope, My SRi had one and its identical to the normal spoiler just minus brakelight, yours seems to be a different shape and design at the edges?

early Si's didnt come with the rear spoiler (at least not as standard anyway) so its possible someones added the one on kierans at some point, mine didnt have one either when i bought it and mine was very early.

I fitted mine, realised there was no way of stopping it catching on the spoiler and binned it. lol.
Still got it positioned along the bottom, just using the old arm.

theoretically, tho how often do you use the rear wiper? and you should'nt realy need to replace it if you buy a knew one aswel!

got mine from a scrappy for a fiver

have to use it quite alot around here with the muddy roads and stuff.
