Punto wiper conversion

you need to drill the hole out to about 10mm i think it was before it'll fit.

just incase you get it and thought you had got the wrong one :)

ohh, and i got mine for a fiver from a scrappy so you can get em cheaper than ebay.

yeah it's a smaller hole then the mera one. what I did was measured the largest and smallest relevant areas of the motor spindle where it ataches to the wiper, then drilled the punto one through at the smallest sixe needed, then going up in .5mm steps made it angled sinilar to the splined section of the motor, to ensure it clamped teh splines tightly and properly.

I'm crap at explaining stuff, this might not make sense until you see the motor/wiper in pieces.

oh and BIG tip, THOROUGHLY clean the splines on the motor spindle before putting the new wiper on. might take a little time, but it's VERY worth it, as you could one day find the motor spinning and the wiper hanging over your number plate.

ok i missed this one what does the new wiper arm do for the mera then ?
 
Punto hole is 8mm and Almera spline is 10mm. Just bore out the hole a couple of mm and do the nut up really tight.

The Punto arm is the same lenth as the OE Nissan one but has a black plastic cover all over it giving a smoother look. All Mk1 Fiat Punto's are fitted wit them 94-99 i belive.
 
does a mk2 punto arm it or is the mk1 only? also are these type with the flushed off wiper blades like clios eg rip off when you want a wiper blad? ended up having to get refills and cut them to size when she had a clio pain in the arse lke the flushed look tho and the lack of rust my oem arm has stared to seized upo so it doesn't bend to the screen countor prpoerly sounnds like I need one of these!
