qucik questions on parts

right, my car is in need of a few things! just wondering how much i'd be looking at for them fitted?!

1x cv joint
1xdrive shaft
clutch

oh yeh i have p2 1.4si if that makes any difference!

Try shopping around.

I use a local mechanic, who has his own small workshop.

I had the clutch changed on my old Sunny.

Clutch kit cost £40, and he only charged me £50 to fit it. Even picked up the car and dropped it off the same day!

If you've got any basic mechanical experience, i'd suggest having a crack at doing this yourself mate.. It would be a hell of a lot cheaper. A clutch kit will be about £50 and the driveshafts have to come out to do the clutch anyway.. And the clutch is a pretty simple job. A driveshaft will be about £20 from a scrapyard or about £75 new. I'd never done a clutch before and I did mine in a day.. The only problem I had was getting the gearbox back in position against the block!

for the whole lot fitted?

I think it depends where you are in the country but yeah shop around its the only way, where i live the labour charges would be about 110 for the clutch and about 40 to do the cv joint/driveshaft. But like shaggy said if you're confident enough get Hayns out and at least try the driveshaft/CV

can certainly done with basic knowledge and confidance!

confidance in your own abilities is FAR by the most required necessaties, if you think you cant do it then more than likely you wont!

aslong as you have the correct tools aswell. lol

can be a 4 hour job! get a shaft from a scrap yard

and itll swap over when your doing the clutch.

Go to a garrage and you are looking £220-£250 more likes.
Get a local Workshop garage to do it and you may get it dow to around £150- £180, prices will vary!

I would definitely say have a crack at doing it mate.. At worst, if you get really stuck you can call out one of those mobile clutch fitters, prices shouldn't be too bad. To be honest its not a hard job at all though mate :)

The man speaks sense, I did the clutch and flywheel on mine myself....took me about 6 hours to do  ..(gearbox weighs a fuckin tonne), but I saved about £200 so I wasn't complaining.

Exactly, get your hands dirty for a day and save £200, its completely worth it!
And you can even buy a better clutch with the money you save :)
