question on boost

hey all just a weird question , was wondering do all dci almeras vary boost on different driveing conditions my past 2 almera dci 136s have done this and both my friends vans do this they seem to cut back boost sumtimes when driveing hardish or kinda doing the fool passing out and stuff when dropping a gear or takeing off hard they seem to restrict the boost as if the car saying "aaaaaah realy u dnt need to drop a gear and you deffinatly dnt need full boost" just wondering what its all about fuel saveing ect???

It's the car's Fuel Cut. It comes in when boost surges up to 1.5 Bar (standard running is about 1.25 bar). It seems to happen under a lot of load up a hill, especially if accelerating from low rpm holding the same gear to the 'red line' I have found. In all honesty it shouldn't happen with VNT but there's obviously something in the design that makes this happen. Odd, and annoying when it happens.

I think there's something you can do to the fuel rail to slightly increase the tolerance before it kicks in. A spacer between the pressure sensor. The Navara chaps found this out. Otherwise you can by a Fuel Cut Defender to raise the boost pressure limit. If you do the latter though on a standard turbo don't set it to boost higher than 1.4 Bar.
