quick caliper painting question?

wanna paint my calipers just wondering if i can take them off the car to paint them or will i have to do it while they are attached?

The best way to do 'em is off the car.. But they can be done on the car.

Taking them off means you can work more comfortably and take more time.. But then you've got to piss around taking them off and plopping them back on.

If you know how to do it and are in no major rush.. I'd whip 'em off to paint.
 
i painted mine on the car it was quite easy but i have big gaps in my alloys to do it

yeah, use a brush to paint them not spray coz with spraying you have to mask every where & it goes on thinly then you have to do several coats. i used to smooth hamerite & i'm pleased with the results :D

Same here... smooth red Hamerite...

I reckon the callipers have been painted a good six months and no sign of the paint degrading yet. Hamerite is also reasonably thick so it gives a deep well protected finish...

Just be careful as the paint dries quickly and if you overload the brush it will start to sag.
