Hi guys as ya know ma almera is dead and i'm now looking at a 2L SRI Primera to buy. The add says he's changed the timing belt. I thought Almera's and Primeras both had Chains instead of belt. Thanks Oh also if anyone knows where i can get a decent almera again give me a shout (I'm looking on auto trader already) Thanks a lot :D
 
SRi Primeras are only 130bhp arent they? compared to the Almera GTi's 143bhp, guess they are not that bad to convert, just thinking outloud.

try ebay for an almera too there's been quite a few lately!
 
Sri's are 130bhp, but there are loads of GT's about.

And there is quite a few Almera GTi's on auto trader, at the moment.
 
Primera Gt is 2L with 147bhp only insurance group 9. Pretty good eh. Yeah Sri only 128bhp but not that bad either. Stange tho, this is in group 9 insurance to. Can any one clarify for me if these cars have timing belts or chains. I got told they have chains but just need this confirming or not as case may be. Thanks
 
All SR20DE engines have chains. And I think Primera GT's are higher than group 9, insurance.
 
Thanks for info GTi Kurt. I looked on parkers web site and they have classed all primeras in group 9 not sure why. Even traders on auto trader claim same thing. Anyone know how they class the cars with regards to insurance groups? Cheers
 
eh? the SRi is a 2.0 at 128bhp, but the GT is a 2.0 and at 147bhp??

AND there both in the same insurance group?? eh, this sounds a bit mad lol..
 
Tell me about it mate i can't figure it out either. Check out parkers guide web site. I'm looking at 1998 plate. If this info is true then bye bye almera 1.6 sri, hello primera 147bhp lol
 
SRi, has milder cams, etc.

Few people on here will be able to tell you everything about the SRi/GT Primera's, just have to wait until thet are on.
 
so what exactly are the primera GT's like?? Ive never actually raced or been in 1 myself so wouldnt know..

Ive heard there quickish, but im guessing the Almera GTi would beat it, then again I could be totally wrong lol..

ahh and that parkers guide carry-on is a load of poo I reckon..

I always thought the SRi Primera was a 1.6 lol... ahh well, learn sumit new everyday ha
 
My big bro got a 2L SE+ in the new shape. pretty ugly cars in my opinion but comfy and rapid at same time though he doesn't give it much welly. Not sure if 2L primera or almera would win. Looks wise the almera beats it hands down in my opinion. But we are on an almera forum so guessing we'd all agree on that. But check out this

according to parkers their in the same insurance group but they aint, ive tried to insure one before, failed, theyre in the same group as the Almera GTi i think

its not a vid unless its diffrent to the link im looking at.. its just comparison.. data and info on the p10, p11 and n15..
