Really stupid handbrake question

is the handbrake operated by small shoes inside the disk? or does it use winding caliper on the back to clamp the disk itself? as mines not particularly brilliant and could do with being tighter...

if you've got rear drums, it will the shoes, if you got rear discs, it will be the calliper.

ok thank you!! ive got disks on the back, but i wernt sure wat type it would be...any ideas on how to tighten it up? as handbrake doesnt do much wen do 30+ lol

Well if you're pulling the handbrake at that speed, all you're going to do is stretch the cable and make it worse until it snaps.

well ive got fwd, so i need something to make the back end lively!

how do i go about getin sponserd!!!?? that sounds gd!!

my starlet was great for this. used to rip the brake at 70mph and it would do nooothing

if you look under the handbrake handle you might find an adjuster screw.

if you got discs it wont be any good anyway, :D

drum brakes have a much better handbrake,

on discs its just for parking which is what its there for! no

Just adjust the brake bias so when you hit the foot brake all the pressure goes to the back brakes, i`m sure the rear end will come out nicely then.......it`ll be a great handling mod along with the konis and the front ARB delete.
