Rear strut/wheel creaking

I've had a funny creaking on the O/S/R for a while now but noticed today coming up the little kerb onto my drive that it creaked then made a little twang noise. It sounds like the spring but I can't find any cracks in it or anything.

It was getting bouncy a few weeks ago (bouncing on side of car to see how long the spring/shock takes to settle) so I thought the shocker was on its way out, but I might be wrong.

Any thoughts?
 
Going by the bouncyness I'd say shocks- but then again I'm not the most mechanical person!

Is it lowered???
 
No mate it's bog standard suspension. Well That's what I thought first, that the shock was on it's way out. It's not leaking or anything but it is bouncier than the rest. But the creaking noise is whats doing me!!
 
Check your springs aren't cracked. and also think I've heard a few people on here say it could be a split bump stop or the rubber gaitor rubbing on the damper. My front left creaks, I just can't be bothered to do anything about it :P
 
Could be the bump stop I guess, i'll have to check it out!

The rubber gaitor on both rears are completely fucked. They just look like shoelaces hanging around the shockers hahaha! :lol:
 
Right matey, thought id reply on here. I'll send you my old springs and dampers this week and you can pay me when you like. you'll have to sort out the sawed top mount bolts though, if your in the know with a good metal works company you'll have them out and replaced in no time.
