Rear Wheel Hub

I had to get 2 new hubs for the rear as the bearings had gone, but on opening there are no studs for the wheel

Do you have to knock the old ones out and re-use?

You can try and knock the old ones out but the threads inevitably get fucked in the process. Studs are sold seperately though, about £3 each. Did the bearings go in both rear wheels?

Yes both sides.

The back bearing plate on both sides had popped off and filled with crap.

I cleaned it up and re-packed with new grease for now until the weekend when I will fit the new hubs.

Being told by ALS that you use the old studs, which is silly, but they're in good nick.

Might be able to heat them or something to remove them.

Pain in the ass. :(

heat the old hub and when its glowing red hot round the stud just give them a tap should fall out you might also wanna try winding the nut onto it first so you have a larger target to hit and wont hit the threads

hope it helps ive done it before on a ford
