I plan to add some sound insulation to my 'mera as it's louder indside than russian tank and I have some serious mileage to do this summer and would prefer to do it in Merc Benz like whooshing silence. However, to do it properly i would need to remove front seats and whole carpet, and as they are wired to airbag system my question is - how does one go about it without blowing airbags or fuses in process? If there is anything else I should know about removing seats I would appreciate any input...

I presume disconnecting battery won't cause any problems with NATS or radio?
Better yet - would removing fuses for airbags do the trick?

Turns out Almera, for a car this horrifically loud inside, has a lot of sound insulation, there is bitumen layer permanently sealed to the floor, thick layer of felt and butyl foamy stuff and the carpet. It seems it's those thick empty inside double metal panels that work like a huge resonating box.. So much for dreams of Merc Benz plush quietness...
