Hi all,
First off - apologies if this is posted in the wrong place... I didn't post this in N15 Tuning and Maintenance as I have a phase 1 CD20 engine (so I figured it didn't fit in either of the forum categories).
Just wondering if any of you guys have an idea of how much it would cost (generally) to replace a timing belt on an N15?
Obviously labour, engine type and parts availability have to be factored in but I was hoping for a general estimated figure so I can prepare myself for how much it could set me back.
Basically, the car is out of action and had to be towed on the Bank Holiday, with the roadside diagnosis by the AA suggesting the timing belt/chain (think it's a belt on the CD20) might have slipped or gone completely, which definitely wasn't what I wanted to hear
The garage I usually use was closed over the weekend but the car's being stored there for the time being. My mate hasn't been in touch yet so in the meantime I was hoping some of you lovely lot could help ease my budget worries (or confirm them)
Cheers,
R
