replacing front speakers

ive just replaced head unit and speakers in the front doors - this post is just to inform anyone who needs front speakers [the ones fitted are 7 inch diameter with stupid 6x4 speaker in middle ] that with slight adjustments to the speaker , 17cm[6.5inch ] kenwood speakers fit in and can use the same bolts , but you will need to cut off the original wiring plug

I recently changed my front speakers too, thought I would take some pics as it might be usefull. If your speaker have a decent size magnet you will need to make up some spacers to clear the support in the door. I used 21mm MDF.
