my N15 ph2 gti which i got a month ago is on lowering spring(about 30mm) cant say for sure as it was lowered when i got it ......

The problem lies in the fact that it a solid ride as you would expect, but for the roads around my way i was hoping if changing the springs to ph2 standards would work or has the cars shocks settled to that height therefore requiring them to be changed aswell ?...
This also raises another question (which i think i read about somewhere on AOC):
Can Ph1 Springs fit on ph2`s ?
Sorry if im going round in circles but any Help Please !

momo

P2 rears are different to P1 so no a complete set wont fit. if you replace lowered springs with standarss then the ride height will return to normal and the damper (unless its mullered) will also return to factory position to suit.

just to clarify then
p1`s springs ok on the front but p2`s only on the back?

or ideally ph2 standards all round and should be a straight swap if all is ok..

thanks for info...
also as far as the ride goes if it was to have different springs how would it affect it or is that more down to the dampers ?

sorry what i meant was going back to the ph1 front spring ph2 rear on standard dampers....

Ah right, if you were to mix and match there is a possibilty of affecting height and handling. However im under the impression that it is the taper of the spring (due to the shape of the cup on the damper) that is different on the rear of P2'. Therefore there should be no adverse effects.

The I.D of the rear spring is smaller on a P2.

A P2 fr spring is alot shorter than a P1 spring........it does fit but is far to short to be used to lower the car b4 anyone tries!

Thanks for correction rowdy-gti ,whats the best option in your opinion(Or anybody elses) in gettin the ride height and overall ride closer to standard

1) standard p2 springs all round ?
or
2)any decent aftermarket springs for a p2 ?
Cheers momo
