Riding Too High

I'm new to this forum so hi everyone!

Bought my first car - a low mileage 1.4 phase 2 Almera about 9 months ago. No problems to report until my first MOT last month. Had to have front coil springs replaced due to a cracked near side spring. I had the work done by a mate of mine who is a qualified mechanic and had OEM KYB springs fitted. After the work was done the ride height was incredibly high however I was told this would probably settle. 1 month and the best part of 1000 miles on and it has still not settled and the springs are definitely the correct ones for my car.

The second problem is that there is a loud creaking sound when I accelerate through corners that seems to also come from the near side. Another mechanic said this could be the CV joint suffering under the pressure of new springs however before I go replacing drive shafts and things I wondered if anyone has ever had either of these problems because if it is simply an "installation error" I don't want to spend money unnecessarily.

Any thoughts would be great,
Thanks

Springs seated correctly? also did it have lowering springs on it before and has now had oem springs on it now maybe?

P1 springs are longer than P2 springs iirc. Its not easy to get P2 specific suspension parts any more.

I recently bought rear dampers that were listed for ALL N15's but are infact P1 specific.

I wondered this however the previous owners were an elderly gentleman who used it as a runaround and afterwards a guy who said he had not had anything done to it so seems unlikely.

I didn't know that, I will contact the supplier and see what he says about it.

Thanks
