Guys, I'm painting my rocker cover this wkend on the GTI.
When it comes to refitting what torque do i tighten to? Is it the same as the 1.4 or 1.6 as given in haynes?
Any pics of the cover would be good, as im thinking of doing mine black and then uncovering the letters to the metal again but i'm open to suggestions.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Remember reading somewhere...ONLY FINGER TIGHTEN. The bolts have a tendency to snap or something...

i snapped one, they dont need a lot of force remember its one to seal teh rocker from splashing oil off the cams
 
i was told by rhynd that they tend to snap and asked my mate who's a mechanic and he told me they have to be tightened in a sequence and not just go around one by one, i think he said you do the opposite of the one you have just tightened
 
Not much at all mate, 10 Nm or 7 lbft and yes there is a sequence.

Stock manifold jut sprayed it black, if you look at my photobucket pics there is one with the rusty manifold looking horrible so decided on doing that too.
Came out a bit "matter" than i was expecting but i'm quite happy with it to be honest.
