Rubber gimp suit lubrication

Just thought i'd grab people's attention, as this forum is usually pretty dormant
What's the best substance to put on rubber bushings in the suspension, to lubricate and protect them.
I'm after prolonging the life of these parts, as especially on the rear, are a pain in the arse to replace.
I've tried researcing this for a while, and although silicone spray appears to be a popular one, it contains petroleum solvent. This, i thought, is bad for rubber???
Can anyone with some sound scientific knowledge recommend something, preferably in a spray varient.

You can get polyurethane grease for poly bushes, it might work on rubber bushes as it's got no petroleum solvents, but i don't think you can get it in spray form.

Thanks for the replies so far. Back to the silicone spray. Although it contains petroleum solvent, would this evaporate quickly, leaving just the silicone on the bushing? Maybe if this is the case, then it wouldn't damage the rubber. Anyone know?

dmsteve. Not gonna give yer location away for security reasons, but i think i've clocked yer motor not far from costcutters. Am i right? Have also clocked a blue GTi further up the hill. Maybe another AOC member???
Not surprising as the Nissan factory's not far from here.

Powerflex do loads of different shore ratings, the higher the shore the stiffer the bush.

Go for a low rating and you'll be fine, they are sort of an OE replacement that'll never need replacing!
