Running well but will not Idle

Hi guys, I am the owner of a 2001 1500e Almera that has developed an annoying little fault. It refuses to idle and now displays the engine management light.
The car actually drives fine and zero loss of power (not that it had any :rolleyes:) with no stuttering or other issues so seriously doubt its the cam chain.
I'm leaning towards the idle valve or something else in the circuit or possible a downed sensor, we just don't know what we are looking at with this car :confused:.
Any suggestions, is there a workshop manual available so I can see what Im looking at?
Hopefully be able to get a friend to pull the codes next week, or can I pull them myself?

id say the ICV...

this would also bring up an engine management light..
easiest thing is to pop into a side street garage who will plug it in to see what comes up!

then say great can i book it in next week! they not charge you, and you phone them back up later and cancel! and fix it yourself :D
